Google will begin taking action against Android apps that have excessive battery drain and heavy background activity in the official Google Play store.
Applications that surpass a “bad behavior threshold” may have their visibility in the Android ecosystem impacted and may be reported on Google Play for having a detrimental effect on battery performance. Google worked together with Samsung to develop the technology, which has been in beta since April 14.
