Following its assaults on Iranian nuclear sites as part of the Iran–Israel war, which began on June 13, 2025, the US administration has issued a warning about cyberattacks by pro-Iranian organizations.
In an advisory, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that cyber actors are likely to target U.S. networks because of the heightened threat environment caused by the ongoing conflict.
According to the DHS, pro-Iranian hacktivists are likely to launch low-level cyberattacks on American networks, and cyber actors with ties to the Iranian government may also launch assaults against American networks. Ineffectively guarded U.S. networks and Internet-connected devices are frequently the target of disruptive cyberattacks by both hacktivists and entities connected to the Iranian government.
