BeatBanker is a new Android malware that can take over devices and deceive users into installing it by pretending to be a Starlink software on websites that seem like the official Google Play Store.
The software can steal credentials and interfere with cryptocurrency transactions by combining banking trojan features with Monero mining.
BeatBanker was found by Kaspersky researchers in efforts aimed against Brazilian users. Additionally, they discovered that rather than using the banking module, the latest version of the virus uses the standard Android remote access trojan known as BTMOB RAT.
Complete device control, keylogging, screen recording, camera access, GPS tracking, and credential capture are all features that BTMOB RAT offers its users.
