New SparrowDoor Backdoor Variants Found in Attacks on U.S. and Mexican Organizations

FamousSparrow, a Chinese threat actor, has been connected to a cyberattack that aimed to deliver its flagship backdoor SparrowDoor and ShadowPad to a research center in Mexico and a trade group in the United States.

The action, which was noticed in July 2024, is the first instance of the hacking team using ShadowPad, a piece of malware that Chinese state-sponsored hackers frequently distribute.
