Record 29.7 Tbps DDoS Attack Linked to AISURU Botnet with up to 4 Million Infected Hosts

The largest-ever distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) assault, measuring 29.7 terabits per second (Tbps), was identified and neutralized by Cloudflare on Wednesday.

The online infrastructure and security firm claimed that the activity came from a DDoS botnet-for-hire called AISURU, which has been connected to several hyper-volumetric DDoS attacks in the last 12 months. The duration of the onslaught was 69 seconds. The attack’s target was not revealed.

Financial businesses, gaming companies, hosting companies, and telecommunications companies have all been major targets of the botnet. A 14.1 Bpps DDoS attempt from the same botnet was also stopped by Cloudflare. An estimated 1-4 million infected hosts globally are thought to be part of the vast network that powers AISURU.
