Hugging Face warns an autonomous AI agent hacked its network
The Hugging Face AI repository revealed that an autonomous AI agent system was used to compromise its production infrastructure, giving attackers access to corporate datasets and passwords.
More than 50,000 businesses use Hugging Face, an open-source AI and machine learning platform that offers access to more than 45,000 models from top AI suppliers.
The business promised to get in touch with any impacted parties immediately and is currently looking into whether partner or consumer data was compromised. Hugging Face stated that its software supply chain has been "verified clean" and that it has not yet discovered any sign of manipulation with public-facing models, datasets, or Spaces.
