Vodka maker Stoli files for bankruptcy in US after ransomware attack
Following a ransomware attack in August and the seizure of the company's remaining distilleries in Russia, Stoli Group's U.S. businesses have declared bankruptcy.
After the August attack seriously impacted its IT systems, including its enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform, Stoli USA and Kentucky Owl, two subsidiaries of the Stoli Group, announced in a filing on Friday that Chris Caldwell, its president and global chief executive officer, was taking action.
Complete recovery is not anticipated until early 2025. The cyberattack also required manual operations throughout the group, impacting important processes like accounting.
