FTC Proposes $7.8m Fine for BetterHelp
The FTC has suggested multimillion-dollar penalties for an online counseling company that violated its contract with clients by disclosing their private health information for marketing purposes.
In addition to paying a $7.8 million fine, the court's judgment prohibits BetterHelp from ever again disclosing consumer health information for commercial reasons, including details on mental health conditions.
