Claude Opus 4.6 Finds 500+ High-Severity Flaws Across Major Open-Source Libraries
Anthropic, an artificial intelligence (AI) business, disclosed that their most recent large language model (LLM), Claude Opus 4.6, has discovered over 500 high-severity security vulnerabilities in open-source libraries, such as Ghostscript, OpenSC, and CGIF.
Launched on Thursday, Claude Opus 4.6 offers enhanced coding skills, including code review and debugging tools, as well as improvements to jobs like financial analysis, research, and document preparation.
Anthropic claims it is using the model to identify and assist in fixing vulnerabilities in open-source software, stating that it is "notably better" at identifying high-severity vulnerabilities without the need for any task-specific gear, unique scaffolding, or specialized prompting.
