Commvault says recent breach didn’t impact customer backup data
According to Commvault, a top supplier of data security solutions, a nation-state threat actor that broke into its Azure environment was unable to access backup data belonging to customers.
Over 100,000 firms use Commvault's cyber resilience services, which have been listed on the NASDAQ since March 2006 and are part of the S&P MidCap 400 Index.
The problem was detected by Commvault when Microsoft alerted it to suspicious activities in its Azure environment on February 20, as the business first disclosed on March 7, 2025. The incident only impacted a small number of Commvault clients, according to a follow-up examination into the breach, and it had no effect on the business's operations.
