New Coyote Trojan Targets 61 Brazilian Banks with Nim-Powered Attack
A new financial malware known as Coyote is targeting 61 banking institutions, all of which are Brazilian in origin.
In a study released on Thursday, Russian cybersecurity company Kaspersky stated, "This malware uses the Squirrel installer for distribution, leveraging Node.js and a relatively new multi-platform programming language called Nim as a loader to complete its infection."
Coyote differs from other banking trojans of its type in that it installs and updates Windows programs using the open-source Squirrel framework.
