DoJ Indicts Three Russians for Operating Crypto Mixers Used in Cybercrime Laundering
Three Russian nationals were charged by the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) on Friday for allegedly running the cryptocurrency mixing sites Blender.io and Sinbad.io.
In collaboration with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Finland's National Bureau of Investigation, and the Netherlands' Financial Intelligence and Investigative Service, Roman Vitalyevich Ostapenko and Alexander Evgenievich Oleynik were taken into custody on December 1, 2024.
The location of their capture was not disclosed. Anton Vyachlavovich Tarasov, the third person, is still on the loose.
