Golden Chickens Deploy TerraStealerV2 to Steal Browser Credentials and Crypto Wallet Data
Two new malware families, TerraStealerV2 and TerraLogger, have been linked to the threat actors known as Golden Chickens, indicating ongoing development efforts to hone and broaden their toolkit.
The purpose of TerraStealerV2 is to gather information on browser extensions, cryptocurrency wallets, and login passwords, according to Recorded Future Insikt Group. In comparison, TerraLogger is a stand-alone keylogger. It records keystrokes using a standard low-level keyboard hook and stores the logs in local files.
Venom Spider, another name for Golden Chickens, is a financially driven threat actor associated with the infamous More_eggs malware family. It has been operating since at least 2018 and uses the malware-as-a-service (MaaS) concept to deliver its warez.
