Ilya Lichtenstein, who was given a prison sentence last year for money laundering offenses related to his involvement in the significant hack of the cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex in 2016, announced his early release.
The 38-year-old announced his release in a post on X last week, citing the First Step Act of US President Donald Trump. Lichtenstein's release date is set for February 9, 2026, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons' inmate locator.
