Custom Backdoor Exploiting Magic Packet Vulnerability in Juniper Routers
Business-grade A bespoke backdoor has been launched against Juniper Networks routers as part of a campaign known as J-magic.
Lumen Technologies' Black Lotus Labs team claims that the activity gets its name from the backdoor's constant monitoring of TCP traffic for a "magic packet" supplied by the threat actor.
The company added in a report provided with The Hacker News that the J-magic campaign represents the uncommon occurrence of malware created especially for JunoOS, which caters to a similar industry but uses a different operating system, a variation of FreeBSD.
