Microsoft Warns Default Helm Charts Could Leave Kubernetes Apps Exposed to Data Leaks
Microsoft has cautioned that use pre-made templates, like unboxed Helm charts, during Kubernetes installations may lead to configuration errors and the loss of important data.
The Microsoft Defender for Cloud Research team's Michael Katchinskiy and Yossi Weizman stated that although these "plug-and-play" alternatives significantly streamline the setup process, they frequently put usability ahead of security.
Because of this, many apps are installed by default in an incorrect configuration, leaving sensitive information, cloud resources, or even the entire environment vulnerable to hackers.
