Data protection authorities in the European Union have fined Facebook's parent firm Meta a record $1.3 billion for sending users' personal information to the United States.
The social media behemoth has been ordered by the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) to comply with the GDPR in all data transfers and to remove any data that has been improperly kept or processed within six months.
