CERT-EU: European Commission hack exposes data of 30 EU entities
According to the European Union's Cybersecurity Service (CERT-EU), the TeamPCP threat group was responsible for the European Commission cloud attack, which exposed the data of at least 29 other Union bodies.
After BleepingComputer requested proof that the primary executive body of the European Union's Amazon cloud environment had been compromised, the European Commission made the matter public on March 27.
The Commission informed CERT-EU about the incident two days prior, claiming that it wasn't until March 24, five days after the original intrusion, that its Cybersecurity Operations Center became aware of API misuse, possible account compromise, or any unusual network traffic.
