North Korean Hackers Deploy FERRET Malware via Fake Job Interviews on macOS

As part of a purported employment interview procedure, the North Korean threat actors responsible for the Contagious Interview campaign have been seen distributing a set of Apple macOS malware variants known as FERRET. According to a new report by SentinelOne researchers Phil Stokes and Tom Hegel, targets are usually invited to interact with an interviewer via a link that displays an error message and requests that they install or update a necessary piece of software, like VCam or CameraAccess for virtual meetings.
