Google Introduces First Quantum Resilient FIDO2 Security Key Implementation

As part of its OpenSK security keys project, Google on Tuesday revealed the first quantum robust FIDO2 security key implementation. Elie Bursztein and Fabian Kaczmarczyck stated that "this open-source hardware optimised implementation uses a novel ECC/Dilithium hybrid signature schema that benefits from the security of ECC against standard attacks and Dilithium's resilience against quantum attacks." Rust-based OpenSK is an open-source security key implementation that complies with both FIDO U2F and FIDO2 specifications.
