Firefox Zero-Day Under Attack: Update Your Browser Immediately
Mozilla has disclosed that active exploitation of a significant security hole that affects Firefox and Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) has occurred in the wild.
It has been stated that the vulnerability, identified as CVE-2024-9680 (CVSS score: 9.8), is a use-after-free flaw in the Animation timeline component.
By taking advantage of a use-after-free in Animation timelines, an attacker was able to obtain code execution in the content process, Mozilla stated in an alert on Wednesday.
"We have had reports of this vulnerability being exploited in the wild."
