The U.S. government ordered Anthropic to suspend access to its most sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) models, Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, for foreign nationals, both inside and outside the country, citing national security concerns. Anthropic announced on Friday that it will "abruptly disable" these models for all users. The AI business reported that at 5:21 p.m. ET, it obtained an order directing it to prevent any foreign nationals from accessing the models.
