French Interior Ministry confirms cyberattack on email servers
The French Interior Minister said on Friday that a hack that penetrated email systems had compromised the nation's Ministry of the Interior.
Officials have not yet confirmed whether data was stolen, despite the fact that the attack (which was discovered overnight between Thursday, December 11 and Friday, December 12) gave the threat actors access to some document files.
In reaction to the hack, the ministry has reinforced access controls and tightened security procedures for the information systems that ministry employees use.
