Germany asks Google, Apple to remove DeepSeek AI from app stores
Due to GDPR infractions, the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection has legally asked Apple and Google to take the DeepSeek AI software down from the app stores.
Meike Kamp, the commissioner, claims that Beijing-based Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence, the company that owns DeepSeek, illegally gathers user data from Germans and sends it to Chinese computers for processing.
Any personal information gathered from individuals within the European Union must be protected in accordance with the guidelines established by the GDPR, particularly Article 46 (1).
