Google Abandons Plan to Phase Out Third-Party Cookies in Chrome
On Monday, Google backed out of its intentions to gradually remove third-party monitoring cookies from its Chrome browser, over four years after it first made the option available as part of a more comprehensive set of contentious proposals known as the Privacy Sandbox.
Anthony Chavez, vice president of the effort, stated that rather than phase out third-party cookies, we will launch a new experience in Chrome that enables users to make an informed decision that applies to all of their online browsing and that they could change that decision at any time.
As we implement this new course, we will interact with the industry and talk with regulators about it.
