Google Introduces Passwordless Secure Sign In with Passkeys for Google Accounts
Nearly five months after integrating passkey support into its Chrome browser, the tech giant has started implementing the password-free option for all Google Accounts across all platforms.
The FIDO Alliance-supported Passkeys are a more secure alternative to using a regular password to sign in to apps and websites. This can then be done by merely using their biometrics (for example, fingerprint or facial recognition) or a personal identification number (PIN) to unlock their computer or mobile device.
