New Version of Android GravityRAT Spyware Targets WhatsApp Backups
Security experts at ESET have found a new version of the Android GravityRAT adware that targets WhatsApp backups.
Lukas Stefanko, an ESET malware researcher, reported that two messaging apps called BingeChat and Chatico are being used to spread the new strain of the ransomware.
A remote access tool known as GravityRAT has been seen at least since 2015. India was the target of earlier targeted strikes.
