Mount Royal University in Calgary claims that after breaking into the university's network, hackers stole and then erased data from its file storage systems. Following a cyberattack on June 17, MRU reports on its website that it has enlisted technical teams and outside cybersecurity specialists to look into the situation and assist with recovery efforts. Numerous university systems, including internet access, online services, and certain internal systems, were affected by the event. MRU has been a public university for almost a century. There are now 12,500 undergraduates and 11,560 students enrolled.
