Socks5Systemz Botnet Powers Illegal Proxy Service with 85000+ Hacked Devices
Bitsight has discovered that a proxy service called PROXY.AM is being powered by a malicious botnet known as Socks5Systemz.
In an investigation released last week, the company's security research team stated that proxy malware and services allow other forms of criminal activity by giving threat actors uncontrolled layers of anonymity, allowing them to carry out various malicious actions via chains of victim systems.
