India Proposes Digital Data Rules with Tough Penalties and Cybersecurity Requirements
A draft of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules has been made available for public review by the Indian government.
In order to enable informed consent, data fiduciaries must make information on the processing of personal data easily comprehensible, according to a statement issued on Sunday by India's Press Information Bureau (PIB).
The rights of citizens include the ability to designate digital nominees, request data erasure, and access easy-to-use tools for data management.
