Charming Kitten Targets Iranian Dissidents with Advanced Cyber Attacks
Since the end of 2022, Germany's Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) has issued warnings about cyberattacks aimed at Iranian nationals and organisations there.
The CIA stated in an advisory that "the cyber attacks were primarily directed against dissident organisations and individuals - such as lawyers, journalists, or human rights activists - inside and outside Iran."
The incursions have been linked to Charming Kitten, a threat actor that has also been identified as APT35, Mint Sandstorm, TA453, and Yellow Garuda.
