Microsoft to Pay $20 Million Penalty for Illegally Collecting Kids Data on Xbox
In order to resolve complaints from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Microsoft has agreed to pay a fine of $20 million. The FTC had accused Microsoft of collecting and holding onto children's personal information without their parents' knowledge or permission when they registered to use the Xbox gaming console.
