LockBit suspects from Russia charged by US court
A Russian has been charged in absentia with launching cyberattacks against American law enforcement organizations and other important targets using LockBit and other ransomware variants. The FBI has set a reward of $10 million for information that results in his capture.
The Department of Justice (DoJ) announced the lawsuit against Mikhail Matveev in a federal court in New Jersey. Matveev also uses the online names Wazawaka, m1x, Boriselcin, and Uhodiransomwar, and the FBI believes he resides in Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg.
