Hackers Use Leaked Shellter Tool License to Spread Lumma Stealer and SectopRAT Malware
It has been found that hackers are using a well-known red teaming tool called Shellter to spread stealer malware, which is just another example of threat actors repurposing respectable technologies for evil ends.
According to the software's creator, a business that had just acquired Shellter Elite licenses leaked their copy, which led to hostile actors using the program as a weapon for infostealer campaigns. Since then, an update has been made available to fix the problem.
The Shellter Project Team released a statement saying, "We now find ourselves addressing this unfortunate situation despite our rigorous vetting process, which has successfully prevented such incidents since the launch of Shellter Pro Plus in February 2023."
