INTERPOL Disrupts Over 22,000 Malicious Servers in Global Crackdown on Cybercrime

As part of a worldwide operation, INTERPOL reported on Tuesday that it has taken down over 22,000 rogue servers connected to several cyber threats. The concerted effort, known as Operation Synergia II, targeted ransomware, phishing, and information theft infrastructure between April 1 and August 31, 2024. 59 servers were seized and 76% of the over 30,000 suspicious IP addresses were removed, according to INTERPOL. 43 electronic gadgets, including laptops, cell phones, and hard drives, were also confiscated.
