Chinese Hacker Group Earth Longzhi Resurfaces with Advanced Malware Tactics
After more than six months of inactivity, a Chinese state-sponsored hacking group has reemerged with a new operation that targets organizations in Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, and Fiji that are involved in manufacturing, healthcare, technology, and the government.
The intrusion set was linked by Trend Micro to the Earth Longzhi cyberespionage group, which is a part of APT41 (also known as HOODOO or Winnti) and has overlaps with several other clusters including Earth Baku, SparklingGoblin, and GroupCC.
