MoneyGram confirms hackers stole customer data in cyberattack
MoneyGram has revealed that during a cyberattack in September that resulted in a five-day outage, hackers obtained transaction and personal data from clients.
When the company discovered the attack on September 27, it locked down its IT systems, making it impossible for MoneyGram users to access their accounts or send money to other users.
MoneyGram now claims that the threat actors gained access to its network even earlier, between September 20 and 22, 2024, in a new data breach notification that was published today.
