New U.K. Law Bans Default Passwords on Smart Devices Starting April 2024

Manufacturers of smart devices are being urged by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) of the United Kingdom to adhere to new laws that forbid them from using default passwords as of April 29, 2024. According to the NCSC, the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act, or PSTI act, would assist customers in selecting smart gadgets that are built to offer continuous defense against cyberattacks.
