Notorious Hacker Group TeamTNT Launches New Cloud Attacks for Crypto Mining
Cloud-native environments are the target of a new, extensive effort by the notorious cryptojacking gang TeamTNT, which aims to mine cryptocurrency and rent out compromised servers to outside parties.
According to a report released Friday by Assaf Morag, director of threat intelligence at cloud security company Aqua, the group is currently using compromised servers and Docker Hub as the infrastructure to spread its malware, targeting exposed Docker daemons to deploy Sliver malware, a cyber worm, and cryptominers.
