NoviSpy Spyware Installed on Journalist’s Phone After Unlocking It With Cellebrite Tool

According to a new study released by Amnesty International, a Serbian journalist's phone was hijacked by a previously unreported spyware program called NoviSpy after it was first unlocked by a Cellebrite tool. In an 87-page technical study, the business claimed that NoviSpy enables remote activation of the phone's microphone or camera and the capture of private information from a target's phone after infection. The spyware was installed on Slaviša Milanov's phone while it was in the custody of Serbian police during his arrest in early 2024, according to a comparison of forensic data.
