Patelco shuts down banking systems following ransomware attack
According to Patelco Credit Union, it was the victim of a ransomware attack, and in order to limit the damage, it was necessary to proactively shut down a number of its financial systems that interact with customers.
With more than $9 billion in assets, Patelco is an American credit union. In addition to checking and savings accounts, credit cards, loans, investment services, and insurance policies, it provides a comprehensive array of financial services.
With 37 branches throughout the Bay Area, Sacramento, and San Jose, the California-based non-profit organization serves more than 400,000 members.
