PNLD Breach Exposes U.K. Police and Government Contact Details on Dark Web
Contact details for law enforcement, the government, and consumers were compromised and made public on the dark web, according to the Police National Legal Database (PNLD).
Police officers, police personnel, criminal justice professionals, government partners, and clients' identities, organizations, and work email addresses were all included in the data.
When the problem was discovered on July 26, certain names and email addresses of those who had asked questions via Ask the Police were also made public. According to UK government guidelines, that exposure can make phishing letters directed at named officers seem more plausible.
