Fake BianLian ransom notes mailed to US CEOs in postal mail scam
Fraudsters are using the US Postal Service to send phony ransom notes to US businesses, posing as the BianLian ransomware gang.
Guidepoint Security was the first to expose the phony ransom notes today. A CEO who received the identical letter later emailed BleepingComputer a scan of the note.
These ransom note envelopes are addressed to a Boston, Massachusetts office building and purport to be from the "BIANLIAN Group":
