AI-Driven Pushpaganda Scam Exploits Google Discover to Spread Scareware and Ad Fraud
Cybersecurity researchers have discovered a new ad fraud scheme that uses artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content and search engine poisoning (SEO) techniques to push false news stories into Google's Discover feed and fool users into turning on persistent browser notifications that result in financial scams and scareware.
HUMAN's Satori Threat Intelligence and Research Team has nicknamed the campaign Pushpaganda after discovering that it targets the customized content feeds of Android and Chrome users.
