RatOn Android Malware Detected With NFC Relay and ATS Banking Fraud Capabilities
RatOn is a new Android malware that has developed from a simple tool that can perform Near Field Communication (NFC) relay assaults to a complex remote access trojan that can perform device fraud using Automated Transfer System (ATS) capabilities.
In a research released today, the Dutch mobile security firm claimed that RatOn is a particularly potent danger since it combines conventional overlay attacks with automatic money transfers and NFC relay functionality.
The banking trojan may do automated money transfers via abusing George Česko, a bank application used in the Czech Republic, and has account takeover capabilities that target cryptocurrency wallet programs such as MetaMask, Trust, Blockchain.com, and Phantom.
