Open-source tool ‘Rayhunter’ helps users detect Stingray attacks

Rayhunter is a free, open-source program developed by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) to identify cell-site simulators (CSS), sometimes referred to as IMSI catchers or Stingrays. In order to fool phones into connecting, stingray devices imitate real mobile towers. This enables them to obtain private information, precisely locate individuals, and maybe intercept conversations.
