Ngioweb Botnet Fuels NSOCKS Residential Proxy Network Exploiting IoT Devices
According to new research from Lumen Technologies, the virus known as Ngioweb has been utilized to support NSOCKS, a well-known residential proxy service, as well as other services like VN5Socks and Shopsocks5.
The Black Lotus Labs team at Lumen Technologies stated in a research published with The Hacker News that at least 80% of NSOCKS bots in our telemetry come from the Ngioweb botnet, mostly using IoT devices and small office/home office (SOHO) routers.
