Ingram Micro outage caused by SafePay ransomware attack
BleepingComputer has discovered that a SafePay ransomware assault has resulted in the shutdown of internal systems at IT behemoth Ingram Micro, causing an ongoing outage.
One of the biggest business-to-business technology distributors and service providers in the world, Ingram Micro provides resellers and managed service providers all over the world with a variety of solutions, including hardware, software, cloud services, logistics, and training.
Ingram Micro has not revealed the reason behind the outage of its website and online buying processes, which began on Thursday.
According to information obtained by BleepingComputer, the outages are the result of a cyberattack that happened early on Thursday morning, during which staff members discovered ransom notes on their laptops.
