Meta tightens up parental controls on Instagram
Meta is tightening up its Instagram and Facebook Messenger systems, adding parental control and restrictions on unwanted conversations and images. The decision was made in light of growing worries about how social media technologies may affect children's health.
Parents will be able to keep tabs on how much time their teenagers spend on Messenger and receive updates on their contact lists according to changes revealed by Meta on June 27. The new feature, however, does not permit parents to view their children's messages, according to the internet giant.
In order to allay parents' worries, Instagram has also undergone changes. Now, parents can see how many Instagram pals their kids have read more Meta tightens up parental controls on Instagram.
