Insurance giant Aflac discloses data breach after subsidiary hack
After hackers gained access to the computers of its Japan subsidiary and stole bank account and personal information, the massive American insurance company Aflac announced a new data breach.
The largest supplemental insurance provider in the US, Aflac (short for American Family Life Assurance Company) is a Fortune 500 company that serves millions of clients in the US and Japan.
Threat actors were able to enter Aflac Japan's systems earlier this month, the company disclosed in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Monday.
